OfficeMax's Thacker offers message of hope, perseverance

In his presentation at the Shop.org Strategy & Innovation Forum, Bob Thacker of OfficeMax reminded the audience that companies such as Walt Disney, 20th Century Fox, American Airlines and Revlon were all established during the Great Depression. Thacker said that while retailers might need to make sacrifices now, they should not suffer. "In history, hope, beauty and inspiration were continuing to live in the most abject of times," he said.
