Fate Therapeutics' founder to get patent for stem cell method

Fate Therapeutics said Rudolf Jaenisch, one of the firm's founders and a Massachusetts Institute of Technology scientist, will secure a U.S. patent for a technique that can transform cells derived from mammals into stem cells. Fate has an exclusive license to the stem cell method, which also is claimed by two other researchers.
