Geithner will urge G-7 leaders to maintain stimulative aid

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner will meet with central bankers and finance ministers from the Group of Seven nations this weekend in Canada. Aides said Geithner will encourage the officials to help with the global economic recovery by maintaining stimulus efforts. Geithner plans to argue that relying on consumer spending could cause the recovery to falter. "We need to see a resumption of private-sector growth, but the key is that you don't want to withdraw government support prematurely," said a senior official of the Treasury Department.
