House panel will look into how Fed plans to unwind stimulus

The House Financial Services Committee plans to hold a hearing next week to delve into how the Federal Reserve plans to unwind stimulus measures and transition to economic recovery. It is not yet clear whether Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke will testify, a senior congressional staffer said. Although Rep. Barney Frank, chairman of the House panel, is a strong supporter of Bernanke, lawmakers are expected to ask questions about the Fed chairman's use of emergency powers.
