Minnesota state fleet used 25% more E85 in 2009, report says

Minnesota's 2,500 flex-fuel state vehicles consumed an estimated 816,568 gallons of E85 in 2009, a more than 25% increase from the 650,036 gallons used in the previous year, according to the American Lung Association, citing a report by the state's SmartFleet Committee. "The state's use of E85 in 2009 prevented more than 3,250 tons of life-cycle carbon dioxide emissions and harmful pollutants from entering our air," according to Kelly Marczak, an ALA executive and SmartFleet Committee member.
