Rising water levels prompt river levee restrictions in Louisiana

The Army Corps of Engineers has banned digging, demolition and subsurface construction in residential, commercial and industrial lots within 1,500 feet of Louisiana levees along the Mississippi River as a result of rising water levels in recent weeks. Levee officials also increased their monitoring activities to promptly respond to concerns caused by rising levels as well as apprehend those who violate the ban.
