Embraer will open in Fla. its first U.S. manufacturing facility

Brazil's Embraer will establish its first manufacturing operation in the U.S. this month. The final-assembly plant in Melbourne, Fla., will work on Phenom 100 and 300 business jets. The company will also open a center there this year for customer design. The move is expected to bring Embraer closer to a larger goal of competing for U.S. military contracts.
