Energy Dept. study shows RFS is good policy

A study by researchers at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory shows that the Renewable Fuel Standard puts downward pressure on crude oil prices, tamps down demand for imported petroleum and contributes to the gross domestic product while barely affecting global food supply and land use, according to Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen. The RFS' contributions to the economy and energy security will only get bigger once the increased advanced-biofuel targets kick in, Dinneen said. "The bottom line is the RFS is an unrivaled American success story," he added.
