Enterprise markets trump consumer sectors for new tech investment

Evidence shows technology entrepreneurs once hooked on the allure of social networking and mobile applications are increasingly turning their backs on the consumer sector and focusing instead on developing new solutions for the enterprise customer. A tally of investment capital in tech-heavy Massachusetts found that between 2011 and 2012, the amount of capital flowing to new enterprise-related projects increased 27%, while investment in consumer-focused startups decreased by 16%.
