Midwestern states face lack of nurses

Midwestern states, including Missouri, face a shortage of nurses, but efforts to train more students run into limits on enrollment in nursing school programs and clinical rotation spots in local hospitals. Nursing schools are creating streamlined programs making it easier for licensed practical nurses to become registered nurses and for RNs to get a bachelor's degree.
