Retail execs tell Congress more data thefts will come

Credit card data thefts like the ones that hit Target and Neiman Marcus will keep happening until today's credit cards are replaced with more secure cards with a PIN and an embedded chip, retail executives said in a hearing before Congress earlier this month. "The unfortunate reality is that we suffered a breach, and all businesses -- and their customers -- are facing increasingly sophisticated threats from cyber criminals," Target Chief Financial Officer John J. Mulligan told lawmakers.
