SEC focuses on high-quality accounting standards

A draft of the strategic plan for the Securities and Exchange Commission seems to backpedal on U.S. companies' complying with International Financial Reporting Standards, Emily Chasan writes. In 2008, the SEC said companies would have to use IFRS by this year. Now the agency is focusing on high-quality standards, which may or may not be global standards.
