Targeted phototherapy safely clears psoriasis vulgaris and generally provides longer remission, better safety and lower costs than some other common treatments such as topical steroids and vitamin D3, oral retinoids, cyclosporine, methotrexate and biologics, according to an analysis in Expert Review of Dermatology. This review describes the evolution of targeted phototherapy as a treatment for psoriasis.
