Architect of divisive buildings rises above controversy

Celebrated architect Costas Kondylis appears to relish in controversy, as the designer of some of New York's most divisive projects, including Donald Trump's towers, the Plaza Hotel renovation and residential towers in the far West 40s. Despite the controversy, however, Kondylis is known for designing in a more conventional style that fits into the mainstream -- a place some architects don't wish to be.
