Edwards proposes universal health care in U.S.

John Edwards, candidate for the Democratic nomination for president, proposed universal health coverage for Americans, to be funded in part with a tax increase on the wealthy. Under the Edwards plan, which could cost up to $120 billion a year when fully implemented, the government, employers and workers would help pay for covering all uninsured citizens.
