Hotels go high-tech with room-key systems

New high-tech room-lock systems, including one that scans the iris in the eyeball, are emerging and could soon render the standard plastic-card systems obsolete. Chains including Starwood Hotels plan to install locks at some hotels that use radio-frequency technology, and French hotel chain Accor has started testing a system that allows guests to use advanced models of cell phones to open their doors.
