Fake social network profiles might be the new form of identity theft in 2009. While it might seem like something small, according to Aladdin's Attack Intelligence Research Center's Ian Amit, this new kind of identity theft could be "devastating, both on the personal level by creating difficulties in employment, ruining social and professional connections, damaging reputations; as well as on a financial level, such as stealing customers, corporate data."
