ICON expects small aircraft to be in production next year

ICON plans to have its line of small aircraft, which sell for $139,000, in production by the end of 2010 to take advantage of new FAA rules on sport-pilot certificates. A sport-pilot certificate takes about half the time to earn as a general aviation private-pilot certificate at about one-third the cost. The compact two-seaters are limited to flying at 138 mph in good weather and daylight.
