New Minnesota bridge will include more medians, new walkways

Minnesota transportation officials say a new bridge in Hastings, Minn., will include extended median barriers, new drainage basins and changes to pedestrian walkways. Officials are considering single-span and twin-span designs for the project, which is estimated to cost $250 million to $300 million. Officials hope the extended median barriers included in all designs will reduce the number of traffic accidents on the north side of the bridge.
