S.C. groups seek infection-control best practices

South Carolina health groups have joined to form the S.C. Healthcare Quality Trust, which will spend $1.7 million over three years researching and developing best practices in the state's largest health systems to reduce hospital-related infections. An information-sharing portal developed by the trust will allow hospitals to research health care-associated infections and track their progress against state and national benchmarks.
