Hawaii aims to take lessons from tourism downturn

Most people involved in the tourism business in Hawaii are relieved to close the books on 2009 and look ahead to 2010. "I hear that from a lot of people, and that's really coming from an industry that has weathered two difficult years," said Marsha Wienert, Hawaii's tourism liaison. Many industry insiders are searching through the data from the past year or so to see what worked, where they can improve and any other clues that will help.
