Medicare cuts could jeopardize cancer care for elderly

Low Medicare reimbursement rates are jeopardizing cancer care for the elderly by making it financially difficult for centers to offer the treatments, according to a report released Thursday. Researchers said Medicare pays for 56% of the cost of delivering chemotherapy, but under new rules that will drop to 45% in 2013.
