Company works to adapt human therapies for animals

Aratana, a company that licenses and tailors compounds from human drugs for animal health conditions, expects to bring its therapies to the U.S. and European markets in 2016. The company is developing a pain medication for pets with osteoarthritis, an appetite stimulant and a pet formulation of Novocain, according to physician and CEO Steven St. Peter.
