Duke Energy provides cost update on S.C. reactor project

Preconstruction costs associated with Duke Energy's proposed Lee nuclear plant in South Carolina were $58.4 million in 2012, up from the $52.7 million the utility spent in 2011, Duke said in filings with regulators in North and South Carolina. Duke has spent $319.6 million on predevelopment activities for the two-reactor facility so far.
