Informed patients have lower projected health care costs

Data on 33,610 patients revealed those who demonstrated the greatest knowledge and confidence in making informed medical decisions and choices that benefit their health had 8% lower projected health care costs than those with the lowest knowledge and confidence scores. The findings were published in Health Affairs.
