Luxury brands rescue Italy's ancient treasures

Fendi will spend $2.9 million to overhaul and restore the crumbling Trevi Fountain in Rome, a landmark that sits less than 10 minutes away from the luxury brand's birthplace, one of several Italian luxury companies spending to shore up Italy's oldest tourist attractions while reinforcing their own Italian roots. Diesel will pay $6.7 million to fix the Rialto Bridge on Venice's Grand Canal, and luxury shoe brand Tod’s Group has committed five times as much to revitalize the Coliseum.
