Samsung, Toshiba, Micron tops in 2012 NAND flash memory market

Samsung Electronics sold $7.29 billion in NAND flash memory devices during 2012, giving it a 38.2% revenue market share for the year, according to DRAMeXchange. Samsung stayed on top while selling 4.9% less NAND flash than last year. Toshiba was the second-largest supplier in the market, with Micron Technology moving up to third place, although SK Hynix reclaimed the third spot for the fourth quarter of 2012, the market research firm reported.
