Seattle and New York City are among the top 10 large cities in the U.S. with the most parks, trails and gardens that improve air quality and increase property values, according to a federally funded survey done by nonprofit American Forests. Portland, Ore., is also on the list. That city even converted a freeway into a riverfront park. Cities were ranked based on parkland per capita and the amount of green spaces accessible to the public.
