Study: Nutrition deficits, autism often coincide

The odds of having nutritional deficiencies and feeding problems were five times higher among children with autism spectrum disorder than in those without the condition, a study showed. Researchers reported in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders that children with autism had substantially lower calcium and protein intake, and were at greater risk for long-term health problems.
