CDC: Carb, fat consumption up

A study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that from 1971 to 2000, men increased their calorie consumption by 7% and women by 22%. The CDC said an increase in carb consumption is partly behind the rise in calories, and Americans are consuming more fats, although fat is now a smaller percentage of overall calories.
