Group criticizes study that found evasion of workers' comp premiums

A study by the Fiscal Policy Institute found that New York employers have evaded up to $1 billion a year in workers' compensation premiums. However, the New York Compensation Insurance Rating Board issued a five-page response to the study noting that if coverage is not in place for a worker, it is paid by the Uninsured Employers fund. The board also called the report false and misleading.
