Bipartisan group works to scale back Senate's stimulus plan

A bipartisan coalition of 20 senators led by Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Ben Nelson, D-Neb., is working to trim about $100 billion from the economic-stimulus package. The current Senate package exceeds $900 billion, making it a tough sell for Republicans and some fiscally conservative Democrats. Noticeably absent from the coalition is Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who has opposed the stimulus bill.
