EU won't intervene in price controversy in Ireland

Neelie Kroes, competition commissioner for the European Union, said she will not intervene in the controversy regarding international retailers' mark-up of products sold in Ireland. Kroes said it is up to shoppers to ensure competition. She said forcing price controls on retailers is "the opposite of the free market".
