Hesse: Sprint making gains despite economy

Sprint CEO Dan Hesse asserted in an interview that subscribers are starting to notice the profound changes in customer care -- at the call center and retail levels -- but noted that the Wall Street layoffs may mean fewer phones sold because of Sprint's high percentage of business subscribers. Also in an interview, Sprint 4G honcho Todd Rowley updated the company's WiMAX progress, saying its new 3G/4G dual-mode card introduced in Baltimore recently has proved popular among business users.
