Phoenix building seen as potential model of ADA compliance

The Disability Empowerment Center of Arizona is expected to become a national model for complying with the Americans With Disabilities Act. The center includes a 64,000-square-foot office building and a four-level handicapped-accessible parking garage, and construction will begin next month on a fitness center. The center also features eco-friendly design with floor-to-ceiling windows, solar shade screens and a central courtyard.
