Google forecasts boom in mobile marketing by 2015

Mobile devices will account for two-thirds of purchases and half of all transactions within five years, Google predicted last week. Google's David Shapiro, director of small-business marketing, said that by 2015 mobile transactions will constitute two-thirds of all purchases. At the same industry event, MMA Managing Director for North America Michael Becker said that mobile is increasingly rivaling the telephone and Internet as a major marketing channel.
