Italy aims to be transparent on derivatives, Monti says

Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti said his government is trying adhere to "best practices" by being as transparent as possible on its swaps. "Italy tries to provide a good example," Monti said. Italy earned more than €8 billion through interest-rate and currency-swap operations in the 10 years through 2008, according to the EU's statistics office.
