Rail restoration efforts gain legislative support in N.C.

A proposal to revive a rail line in North Carolina between Castle Hayne and Wallace is expected to move ahead with the support of bipartisan legislation sponsored by state Reps. Susi Hamilton and Phil Shepard. The bill seeks $130 million over a two-year period for reconstruction expenses. "This is a good, long-range plan to benefit the whole state of North Carolina," Hamilton said.
