Supply shortages threaten Nokia's Chinese New Year sales

Nokia's comeback in China has been jeopardized by a shortage of Lumia smartphone shipments for the critical New Year shopping season, analysts reported. "Nokia must not fail in China because it would place their entire worldwide recovery effort at risk," said Neil Mawston, an analyst at Strategy Analytics. Separately, The Guardian newspaper chronicles Chief Executive Officer Stephen Elop's struggling efforts to reverse the company's fortunes and battle BlackBerry for third place in the global market.
