Google+ Hangouts helps students "visit" physics labs

The SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is among labs allowing students to take virtual field trips using Google+ Hangouts and a related Google Education program, Connected Classrooms. Recent "visits" included classes from Indiana and Venezuela. One educator in Wyoming said the virtual field trips give students greater insight into careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
