Groups fund research on links between Parkinson's, Alzheimer's

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, the Alzheimer's Association and The W. Garfield Weston Foundation of Canada are funding research to explore the similarities and differences between Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Although the diseases manifest differently in clinical terms, research has shown shared biological characteristics including protein buildup in the brain and inflammation.
