Pediatricians advise that nursing infants should sleep next to mothers

The American Academy of Pediatrics has issued a new breast-feeding policy recommending mothers breast-feed their infants for six months and also saying babies who are breast-fed should sleep right next to their parents' bed so that mothers can hear the infant's early signs of hunger before the baby cries. If the crib is in another room or even across the room, the mother may not hear the movement, experts say.
