Effort under way to build new border crossing at Buffalo

The Detroit-based owners of the Ambassador Bridge have launched an effort to set up a new border crossing between the U.S. and Canada to allow for a better flow of truck traffic in a heavily congested trade corridor. The Ambassador Niagara Signature Bridge group is seeking permission from the U.S. State Department to build and operate a bridge that would cross the Niagara River in Buffalo, about 1-1/2 miles north of the existing Peace Bridge.
