Takeover bids for Ratiopharm reach $4 billion, sources say

German generics company Ratiopharm might continue takeover negotiations with at least two bidders, including Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, as offers approach the $4 billion mark, sources said. With bidders such as Teva, Actavis and possibly Pfizer, the deal could turn out to be the biggest purchase of a generic-drug firm since Teva bought Barr Pharmaceuticals for $7.5 billion in 2008.
