EADS will study icing using cryogenic wind tunnel

EADS Innovation Works has opened a cryogenic wind tunnel near Munich to study icing. The compact tunnel can create icing conditions that normally would have to be simulated in longer tunnels. The smaller tunnel will also have lower operating costs than conventional tunnels, says Jean Botti, EADS' chief technical officer.
