Senate proposes legislation for drone safety rules

As more organizations in the U.S. turn to unmanned aerial vehicles, safety concerns for drones have come to the forefront. The Senate proposed legislation this week that would require the Federal Aviation Administration to draft a safety plan for drones within three years. "You've got to find a way to apply today's technology to regulations that were written many years ago," said Bobby Sturgell, a senior vice president at Rockwell Collins.
