Airline merger could be healthy for industry, expert says

A merger between American Airlines and US Airways could help stabilize the U.S. airline industry, observers say. The merger "will result in four healthy airlines with the right level of capacity," said John Thomas, head of the global aviation practice at L.E.K. Consulting. "Four big players is a very successful environment."
