Commentary: Flood insurance delivers despite higher rates

Flood insurance is an important investment, despite impending premium increases, because of the regular occurrences of flooding throughout the U.S. every year, Lew Sichelman writes. The reauthorization and revision of the National Flood Insurance Program in 2012 allows for rate increases, but it also allows payment in installments for policyholders without escrowed monthly premiums, Sichelman writes.
