Hospitals recognized for use of nursing quality data

The American Nurses Association honored the six recipients of the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality, including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J. Of the more than 1,900 hospitals considered for the award, six "demonstrated superior results and sustained improvement in patient outcomes that are tied to the quality of nursing services and nurse work environment factors," the group said. The other recipients are Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley of Boardman, Ohio; Craig Hospital of Englewood, Colo.; Rose Medical Center of Denver; Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital of San Diego; and St. Francis Hospital -- The Heart Center in Roslyn, N.Y.
