New York Times Co. subscription revenues rose, ad sales slid in Q4

Increased print and digital subscription revenue failed to overcome a decline in ad revenue at The New York Times Co., which posted a 0.7% year-to-year drop in revenue for the fourth quarter, excluding the extra week in the latest period. However, net income was up sharply, mainly due to the sale of About.com and Indeed.com.
